This past year, my mom and step-dad built a home together and asked me to do all the design work for them! It's been a ton of fun to work with them and especially to do something that is a little outside my wheel-house. It's certainly not finished, but I wanted to give you guys some updates on the main living spaces, and master bedroom!
Here we go!
I opted for a soft gray color throughout the entire main living space. They have such gorgeous natural lighting, and we used really organic and soft finishes, so I didn't want the wall color competing. Color is Benjamin Moore, Grey Owl.
Salt and Pepper Cellars
Ceramic Pitcher (The one above is discontinued, but the link is very similar)
We plan to add curtains, but I think we're going to have to sew our own. I'm having trouble finding any affordable options at the length we need. I'll keep you updated!
In the far right corner of the kitchen, I've ordered a few raw wooden shelves to make a sweet little coffee bar. The wood tones will tie in nicely with the flooring and dining table. It will also help in breaking up the white of the kitchen.
Acacia Wood Serving Bowl
Cutting Board (We found this one on sale at home goods, and have not been able to find another! I linked to a similar one, and it does have the gorgeous tones that ours does, but doesn't have the handle)
The living room needs a bit of love yet, but I wanted to at least give you an idea of what we're working with. As well as adding curtains, I'm gonna pop in a floor lamp, to add a bit of height to the room.
Chair (sadly another home good find. Link is a dupe)
Leather Throw Pillow Cover (similar)
Knit Throw Pillow
Behind the couch, I'm planning either a very thin console table or a bench with a piece of art. It's quite a small space right there at the front door, but those neutral walls need a bit of attention.
For the master, I wanted to go as serene as possible, so I opted for a warm cream color with navy and pops of blush as accents. The metal bed keeps with the modern farmhouse feel.
Paint Color: Benjamin Moore, Swiss Coffee.
I'm so happy with the progress so far, and I can't wait to see where this beauty goes from here. Happy Styling!
